The Arab Wildlife Center in Sharjah is the only zoo in the UAE, which contains all the animals and plants of the Arabian peninsula, from small rodents to large ungulates and predators. All animals are kept in spacious enclosures, as close as possible to the natural habitat of animals. Terrariums and aquariums contain lizards, rare species of spiders, scorpions and fish, including the rarest blind fish living in the caves of Oman. Pavilions with artificial rivers and lakes have been created for peacocks, pelicans and flamingos. In the room called "Night House" you can see the life of nocturnal animals: foxes, porcupines, mongooses, hedgehogs, rodents.
