Barcelona: meeting with geniuses and epochs. Author's car and walking tour
Barcelona is a city where history, art and passion merge together. Immerse yourself in its contrasts and grandeur during our 4-hour guided tour. You will not only see the medieval streets of the Gothic Quarter, but also witness the architectural revolution embodied by Antonio Gaudi and his contemporaries.
**The route of your acquaintance with Barcelona:**
1. ** The "Golden Square" of Modernism and the "Apple of Discord" (Illa de la Discordia).**
We will stop at the prestigious Paseo de Gracia Avenue, where the masterpieces of three great architects who competed for the title of the best stand in one block. You will see:
* **Casa Batlló (Gaudi)** — "house of bones", similar to a fairy-tale dragon.
* **Casa Amatller (Puig y Cadafalk)** — strict Neo-Gothic facade.
* **Casa Lleó Morera (Domenech y Montaner)** — exquisite Art Nouveau.
* Next to it stands the undulating **Casa Milà (La Pedrera)**, and a little further — the elegant **Casa Fuster**.
2. **Sagrada Familia Church (Sagrada Familia).**
We will arrive at the most famous long—term construction in the world - the ingenious and unfinished creation of Antoni Gaudi. You will appreciate its fantastic facades, learn the history of construction, which began in 1882, and the symbolism of each sculpture. It's not just a cathedral, it's a stone Gospel and the main icon of the city.
3. **New center: Olympic Port or Spain Square ensemble.**
Depending on your preferences and the day of the week, we will travel to one of two locations.:
* **Olympic Port (Port Olímpic)** — the modern symbol of Barcelona, transformed after the Olympics-92. You will see the skyscraper Arts Hotel, the goldfish sculpture by Frank Gehry and enjoy the atmosphere of the waterfront.
* **Plaza España and Montjuic Hill** are a grandiose ensemble created for the 1929 World's Fair. We will see the magical fountains (Font Magica), which in the evenings arrange an unforgettable light and music show, and the majestic Venetian towers.
4. **Completion at altitude: Montjuic Fortress.**
Our tour will end at the top of Montjuic mountain near the ancient fortress of the XVI century. From here you can enjoy the best **panorama of Barcelona**: you can take in the whole city, from the port and Gothic spires to the endless expanse of the Mediterranean Sea. This is an ideal point for taking final photos and making sense of what you've seen.
