How to get
The nearest metro stations to the area are Old Street and Liverpool Street (located in the City). There is also a train station at the intersection of Liverpool street and Bishopgate street.
The Shoreditch area will be interesting to visit for those who want to see not pomaded-powdered, but real London, which tourists try not to show.
The name of the quarter comes from the word "ditch" – a ditch, a rotten, dirty place. This is how the area was several centuries ago. Poverty and prostitution have flourished here since the middle of the 17th century. The latter is still present here today. Moths can be found on the streets of Shoreditch during the day, on the main street of the area there are many strip clubs and pubs where you can easily get your face cleaned for living well.
In parallel with crime, an alternative culture is actively developing here. Many warehouses have been turned into art galleries, and the doorways are painted with real masterpieces of street art.
